Safeguarding
Safeguarding Support
At Elm Tree Primary, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our children. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
All adults and visitors who have had a DBS check (Disclosure and Baring Service) wear a green lanyard. All other adults will be given a red lanyard and will be accompanied around school by a member of staff. All visitors need to come to the front office and only authorised adults will be given access to the school site. If parents need to speak to a member of the teaching staff, they must come to the front office in the first instance.
To keep all children safe at home time, if alternative arrangements are being made for collection, the parent of the pupil will need to contact the school to confirm arrangements or speak to a member of school staff.
Early Help Offer
At Elm Tree Primary, we recognise the challenges that families face and there may be times when you need extra help or support. If this is the case, please come and talk to us as there may be ways in which we can help.
School Early Help referrals include:
- Mental Health Support Team
- Supporting Smiles
- CAMHS
- School Nurse Team
- Attendance support through school meetings and EWO (Education Welfare Officer)
Additionally, there are some great resources and links on Just One Norfolk website to help support families around subjects such as emotional and mental health.
Early Help Support.
In addition to school support and referrals, we can help families complete an Early Help Assessment. This is where we can map out what is working well within the family, plus together we identify any particular worries and what is making things difficult at home. If it is agreed that extra help is needed within the family home, a member of the Lowestoft Family Support Team will be allocated to support the family. This is usually over a 6 to 8 week period.

The Solihull programme runs for 10 weeks as focuses on parent and child relationships including behaviour management.
